Film
Above 120 Film Photograph by Will Brown
WHY DO I SHOOT FILM?
I’m an analog gal and I enjoy intentional, slower processes that produce high quality vs quantity.
I love working with old cameras, it’s romantic.
Film has life, the grain moves, it has atmosphere, imperfections, and it’s poetic.
Experimenting with film brings me great joy and turns you into art. There are a variety of ways that I play with film: light leaks, multiple exposures, film swaps, souping film, long exposures, lomography film, experimental filters, and expired film.
We look naturally beautiful on film. Film cinematically softens your skin without digital filters and mutations.
Film has a very unique look and feel.
I photograph with INTENTION every shot matters to me and it’s thoughtful.
Film captures unseen layers and magic.

MY FILM PROCESS
TYPES OF FILM I SHOOT: I typically shoot all professional film. My current most used film stock is Kodak Portra. I also love Kodak Ektar and Kodak Gold. For black and white I use Ilford HP5 and I love to push this film for a richer contrast.
My photography sessions are documented with a mixture of 35mm and 120 film.
All my film is professionally developed locally in New Orleans at Bennett’s Photo lab. I am a part-time film lab technician at Bennett’s and I manage all my own scans and film handling.
For personal and private projects such as boudoir, I am the only person who sees your film.
Film is developed, scanned, and turned into a digital image with a high resolution. 18mb for 35mm film and 80mb for 120 film are large scans that can be turned into beautiful prints for your home.
Once film is digitized, I minimally edit the scans. This usually means removing dust, possible unwanted objects, and minor color correction.
Each session is delivered digitally to you through my online gallery, pic- time. From this site you can download your film images, order prints, and share with your friends and family.
